Renewables made up 56% of electricity generated in the Faroe Islands in November

The electricity mix in November consisted of six different sources of energy - five of which were sustainable energy sources

More than half of Faroese electricity generation in November was supplied by hydro, wind, biomass, solar and tidal energy, respectively, albeit a very small portion was solar and tidal energy.

More rain than usual and a steady wind secured 42.7% hydro power and 12.7% wind power, respectively, of total generation, whereas 44% came from thermal power and the remaining 0.6% came from biomass, solar and tidal energy.

Solar- and tidal energy production are still a relatively very small part of total installed capacity.
