This period saw a significant upsurge in wind energy, solar power, and hydropower, while thermal energy experienced a notable decrease. Notably, wind energy saw a remarkable increase of 74%, despite the consistent number of windmills. This improvement can be attributed to the implementation of a battery system and synchronous compensator last autumn, enhancing production efficiency. Wind energy accounted for a substantial 43% of the total island production.

Furthermore, hydropower production exhibited a 2% growth compared to the same period the previous year, contributing 12% to the overall production, a step up from its former 10%. Solar power also saw a positive shift, with a 4% increase, comprising 0.6% of the total production.

Thermal energy utilization at Vágsverkinum was notably reduced to 44%, marking a decrease from the previous year's 65% during the same period. This reduction had a significant impact, resulting in the conservation of 800 tons of oil that would have otherwise been utilized for electricity production.
