47% sustainable electricity generation in April

Hydropower increased by 90% compared to April of last year and contributed 36% of the Faroese electricity in April. Calm weather as well as unscheduled outage of three of our wind turbines, however, caused a decrease in wind power, which only made up 11% of total generation.

Fossil fuels made up 53% and solar power reached 0.05% of total electricity generation.
