SEV wins wind tender

 02-10-2019
SEV has been awarded a wind tender of 18 MW located near Eiði on the island of Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands

The wind farm will consist of 6 E82 ENERCON turbines, 3 MW each.

SEV won the tender with a bid of DKK 0.239 per megawatt hour, whereas the competing bid by a consortium of the oil company MAGN and life insurance company LÍV was DKK 0.262 per megawatt hour.

"We welcome the energy authority's decision regarding the Eiði project, and will now proceed with expanding the Faroese wind capacity, thereby decreasing the use of and expenditure on fossil fuel” says Hákun Djurhuus, CEO of SEV.

The next step will be to obtain all necessary authorisations and permits in order to construct the wind park as soon as possible.
